Introduction

Kaggle is the world’s largest online community and platform for data scientists and machine learning practitioners. Companies and researchers post datasets and contestants compete to build the best predictive models. Founded in 2010, it has grown from a home for predictive modeling competitions to a full data science ecosystem that includes public datasets, cloud-based notebooks, discussion forums, free courses and a pretrained model hub. Google bought it in 2017 and now it is running under Google Cloud, but still retains its open community character. By 2026 it says it is “The World’s AI Proving Ground,” with more than 32 million data scientists and enthusiasts in its community.
